Hydrolysed Casein
- Increased Recovery Times
- Increased Protein Synthesis
- Gains in Lean Muscle Mass
1kg Natural
Our Hydrolysed Casein is a fast acting protein made in NZ, for athletes whose goal is to gain lean muscle mass and/or increase recovery times.
With a low average molecular weight of 2930 Daltons and its high level of short chain peptides it is absorbed by the body rapidly, enabling a quick increase in protein synthesis making it ideal to consume pre, intra and post workout.
Professional Whey is proud to offer what we consider to be highest quality pre-digested casein protein available in Australia. The facts are:
- Low Average Molecular Weight of 2930 Daltons
- Moderate Degree of Hydrolysis at 10%
- Very High Levels of Low Molecular Weight Peptides
- Over 95% Protein (dry basis), Almost Zero Fat and Carbs
This makes it significantly superior to WPC, WPI, regular Casein and there is evidence that shows Hydrolysed Casein to be a superior choice over Hydrolysed WPI when it comes to muscle gain and fat loss.
However we recommend Hydrolysed Casein and Hydrolysed WPI being used together to get the synergistic benefits of whey peptides and casein peptides.
Note: Hydrolysed Casein has a bitter taste, due to its hydrolysis. Organic Stevia Extract and Dextrose do mask most of the bitterness. Also the hydrolysis creates a very microscopic fine powder which will froth when shaken, so please gently stir if you want to avoid the frothiness.

Great recovery!
By: adam Hill-Williams on 15 September 2016This is a great protein to help speed up recovery from intense/heavy weight sessions.I add 10g to my preworkout mix followed buy a 50g mix post workout of hydrolysed casein and HWPI 50/50 ratio. Works extremely well. One tip when mixing is to stir, do not shake, it will get to frothy. Highly recommend when heavy sessions are on the card.

Great, and flavour is ok too
By: andy hrelja on 13 April 2016I mix this 50:50 with WPC and some "greens" powder and don't find the taste a problem at all. Haven't been using it long enough to know conclusively if it makes a difference but I have finally started putting on a bit of size and weight so maybe it is. And really, if anyone thinks this tastes bad, they really need to harden up :)

Best value pure and Natural Hydrolysed Casein
By: Suresh Shashidhar on 18 November 2015This product is all natural with no additives and as such is the best supplement for anyone sensitive to lecithins and numerous other additives found in most Hydrolysed Casein products. Additionally, it is fast acting, doesn't leave you feeling bloated and is best value for money. I find it helpful to mix this with natural Rice and Pea proteins to reduce frothiness; stavia for taste and finally Psyllium husk for fibre. For additional benefits I also mix bovine colostrum.

Pleased with the results!
By: Jean-Marc Simoneau on 22 September 2015Yes, it’s true – this product doesn’t taste the best and it doesn’t mix all that well. But it does seem to give the results. Progression diminishes after the first couple of years of training. I’ve trained for a solid 7 years and tried many whey products and although I’ve been hitting it hard I hadn’t seemed to add much to the scale in the past year. Switching to Hydro Casein has gotten me out of my plateau and significantly reduced DOMS. I mix with dextrose and half a serving of WPC, continuously shaking seems to eventually mix the product.

Harden up Princess!
By: Elizabeth Hannigan on 7 September 2015Read that the H. Casein is hard to swallow. Yep, how true! I would like to suggest that Professional Whey provide a sample pack. Due to the fact that I am not going to waste my recent purchase, I found the best way to consume it, is to mix it in a glass of water until it is semi lumpy and chow it down as fast as I can. Make sure you are standing over the kitchen sink in case the gag reflex kicks in...Burp!

By: Mike Rativo on 2 January 2015If you can get past the taste, this is a great post workout protein. I've noticed a difference with my recovery times and the results are showing.

Great Protein! Fast Delivery
By: Joshua Duncan on 29 April 2014I found this protein to be well worth the money! Ive usually been using it in conjunction with a blender, but i still found it was ok to mix in with a shaker bottle. The taste initially was pretty bad but not really noticing it now. Well worth it and noticing the results!

Concrete
By: Drazen Drazic on 19 July 2013You will never get over the taste but it's good. Don't spill it on your kitchen bench and let it dry. You won't get it off. If you have run out of gyprock for home improvements, this works a treat on a 50/50 water mix. In regards to training, well worth the investment. Try it for yourself and you will notice better recovery. Only for the hardcore if I had to be honest and if that's you, go for it.

Amazing quality
By: Vince on 7 July 2013I usually buy a selection of proteins from Professional Whey to mix my own combinations. Hydrolysed Casein is always in the intra and post shakes. Gets to work fast! In fact I have purchased this product a few times now. Won't stop :)

Good pre/post protein
By: Jason Anderson on 2 July 2013I have been giving Hydrolysed Casein a try after using Pepto Pro. I use it 50/50 with hydrolysed whey as part of the ultimate pre/post workout formula. I mix it with a stick blender a don't have any real mixability issues. It is very bitter but is easily masked with stevia, cacao etc. I seems to help well with recovery and lean muscle gains when doing P90x programs. At this point I will keep on using it.

Tastes well enough
By: Robert Lipka on 23 June 2013It mixes well enough. Mix it in a shaker at the beginning of a workout session and by the end it will dissolve (shake it a couple of times in between sets). The taste of this version is less bitter than others I have had. The taste is not disgusting, just bitter. I add about 5g of glucose to this, around 1/4 standard teaspoon of salt and a small serve of creatine monohydrate. The taste is perfectly fine in this combination. Results are hard to measure for everyone, so judge for yourself.

Product review update
By: Ewan Seaford on 30 December 2012I've now been using this for three months and love it. I'm now used to the taste and use this with the hydrolised isolate. My primary reason for purchase was to assist with recovery. In the past 3m. I continue to hit more PB's than over the past 6m period. I can say it has helped give the appearance of more muscle mass although this has not been measured nor has it been a personal reason for purchase. Missing a * for price. A great product none the less.

super duper!
By: Matthew Wills on 4 November 2012doesnt mix well and tastes like ass. but we dont use hydro casein for its delicious taste. we use it for its super fast absorbtion and enhanced insulin responce. and its way cheeper than peptopro.

Doesn't mix well
By: Ewan Seaford on 20 September 2012Ditto to the comment. The only way I've been able to remove the lumps is with a blender. It will not mix well with a conventional protein shaker. Can't yet vouch for the quality of the protein. As the description of the product states it does have a bitter taste although easily masked with some raw cacao or cinnamon.

Poor mixerbility
By: Jit Anbu on 12 June 2012Does not mix well. Did not like the taste. Couldn't tell the difference between a good WPI and this Hydrolysed Casein.
