Low Carb Organic Almond & Brazil Nut Chocolate Protein Bars

This is a great protein bar recipe for you to make your own homemade protein bars. They cost less than $2 per bar and they are jam packed full of wholefood nutrients

Makes 12 Protein Bars

Ingredients:

75g Organic Coconut Oil

75g Organic Cacao Butter

120g Organic Cacao Powder

25g Organic Almonds

25g Organic Brazil Nuts

165g Natural NZ Whey Protein Isolate

250ml of Organic Whole Milk

1 Teaspoon of Stevia Extract

1 Teaspoon of Organic Stevia Leaf Powder

Toppings:

25g Organic Almonds

25g Organic Brazil Nuts

10g Organic Cacao Nibs

Nutritional Information (per bar):

Energy: 253 kcal

Carbohydrates: total: 3.5g

Sugars: total: 1.5g

Protein: 17g

Fat: 19g

Directions

1. Melt Cacao Butter and Coconut Oil over a low heat in pan.

2. Chop Almonds and Brazil Nuts in food processer.

3. Remove half of the chopped nuts from the food processor and place in a cup.

4. Place melted Cacao Butter and Coconut Oil into food processor with the remaining nuts.

5. Add the Organic Cacao Powder and blend for 1 minute.

6. Add the protein powder and blend for 1-2 minutes until you have a thickened mixture.

7. Mix Stevia Extract and Stevia Leaf into 250ml of milk and stir for 20 seconds.

8. Add the Milk slowly to the food processor whilst on for 2-3 minutes until the chocolate becomes smooth and silky.

9. Remove the chocolate from the food processor and place into shallow container.

10. Sprinkle Nuts on top of the chocolate and add Organic Cacao Nibs.

11. Freeze for 6 hours until hard, then chop into twelve bars or freeze it for less time if you prefer it to be soft and sticky.

In less than 20-30 minutes you will have prepared some extremely tasty protein bars and compared to what you find off the shelves, these protein bars are less than half the price and have at least triple the goodness.....Enjoy:)
